Purchased at the brewery in a 16 ounce tall boy can; consumed a few weeks later at home. Pours a deep red, mahogany color with a decent head that quickly dissipates. Pleasant mild malty smell. Strong malt flavor, along with some taste of plum and a bit of hop bitterness; good mouth feel, very clean finish for an ale. The 9.5 abv is really well masked by the the the flavor palate. Very engaging red English Ale!

Draught @ Brewery: This one pours a fairly opaque, reddish mahogany color. There was a this off-white head that didn’t leave any lacing. It has a malty nose. Mainly caramel and faint fruits. A touch of earthiness. The taste is good. Fuller body. Lots of malts, minimal sweetness. Caramel, earthy, faint fruits. A faint hop bite in the finish. Good!
