Lots of roasted and caramel malts along with the addition of oats creates a heavy-duty, black beer. Teeming with malty, roasty goodness, Oatmeal Stout also presents a silky-smooth creaminess provided by the addition of real oats to the brewing process. Just the beer for those cold, winter nights!

12oz bottle, best by date of 6/18/16. Pours mostly black with a medium sized light khaki head. Smells of roasted malt, cold press coffee, oats, and a hint of spice. The taste follows with mostly roasted malt and oats with some light spice and char. The taste is less intense than the smell. Light bitterness. Medium body and below average carbonation. Overall, it's a pretty straightforward and drinkable Oatmeal Stout.

A: Poured from refrigerated bottle into pint. Dark, dark with slowly dissipating inch thick tanned head with loads of carbonation sprites.
After letting it sit for a bit, the head was reduced to a thick film, but some nice lacing lingered on the side of the glass. Carb sprites were still rising.
S: Malty, slight coffee?, oats - not much else.
T: Some malt, - not much else
M: Nice moderate fullness at first taste with a bit of the foam. Good body and quite a smooth finish. Not much bitterness at all.
O: Straight up solid oatmeal stout but without any frills. Easy drinkin' without any distractions. A good meal beer. Marked it as a 4 considering the utilitarian aspect.
