330 ml bottle, Etre Gourmet - Pours black with a small tanned foamy head which quickly dissipates. Medium carbonation. Aroma - light smoke forefront, hints of dark chocolate, caramel and coffee. Taste - light smoke, roasted malts - chocolate and coffee, dry, bitter finish. Very nice well balanced light smoked porter.

Dark colour, medium head with a lot of bubbles and short retention that fades to an irregular thin lace.
Aroma of dark fruits, chocolate, licorice, some coffee.
Medium creamy body, good carbonation.
Taste of coffee (more present than in smell), licorice, chocolate, dried and dark fruits, muscatel.

From XXXII. In Teku glass. Reading CPPHTP10 Ch16. Maybe not the most amazing beer from Naparbier but good anyway. It was overcarbonated

it pours a very dark brown body with a huge foaming tan head
there is a bit of hops in the aroma but mostly the liquorice
that fills the flavor with that slight ammonia edge that you get with unnatural liquorice
but it tastes rich, roasted and tasty
It is a little thin for the big abv
All in all a very good effort and certainly the best Spanish beer I've had yet.

Got this one at the Duvel guy down the road.
From a bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Pours a 1+ finger, medium looking, creamy, light tan head with great retention. Pours our a clear black and sits in the glass with no carbonation evident. Head fades to a foamy cap and sticks to the sides of the glass. A ring remains leaving dots of lacing down the glass. Good looking porter.
SMELL: Burnt notes, leather, light vanilla, caramel notes and a bit of wet cardboard perhaps. Some oxidization seems to be rearing its ugly head. Meh.
TASTE: Quite bland, actually. A bit of oxidized character up front, with wet cardboard and a bit of sourness, then some lightly roasted notes as well. A medium finish of burnt flavors, some vanilla, a bit of caramel and wet cardboard. Lots of leather as well. Not good.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A little light on the palate, goes down fine and finishes drier for the style.
OVERALL: Not impressed here. The oxidized cardboard flavors are definitely unpleasant, which is unfortunate. This had potential if it had been in good shape. Drain stepped up to the plate for this one.
