Oct. 2013: On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Black colour, large and creamy beige head. Moderate but pleasant aroma, mild roasty and vinous notes, hints of exotic woodwork and chocolate. Smooth mouthfeel and flavour, fairly dry, mild roasty notes again, some fruity acidity, moderate hops. A decent "British" porter from Spain.

From a 12 oz bottle in a pint glass. Pours darkish brown with a HUUUUGGGEEE dark tan head and beautiful lacing. Nose of dark chocolate, black coffee, and burnt grains with a touch of sweetness in the background. Flavors are chocolate and coffee to the front and sides with a moderately sweet brown sugar flavor mixing with the burnt grains in the background and a hair of dark cherries and raisins on the aftertaste. Highly roasted with a watery yet coating mouth feel. An interesting take on a porter, more American than a Spanish. Interesting.

330 ml. bottle. Big off white head, that fades too soon for a porter. Aroma of coffee, licorice, roasted, burnt wood. Some notes of chocolate and caramel. Light body, a bit too carbonated ( too "coke"), and watery. Taste of coffee, burnt wood, chocolate, dark fruits. Just OK.

Got this at the De Molen beer shop in Bodegraven.
From a bottle into a snifter
Bottled August 2013
APPEARANCE: A clear brown pour yields a two finger, foamy, off-white head with great retention. Clear bistre brown with higher levels of carbonation evident. Head slowly fades to a full foam cap and coats the sides of the glass. Head was nice, but a bit too carbonated.
SMELL: Dark malts, chocolate, caramel notes with leather and light sweet cream. Nice.
TASTE: Caramel notes, chocolate and hints of dark fruit up front. Moves into a big and robust finish with some cocoa powder, burnt grain, leather, light caramel sweetness and some hop bitterness linger on the palate.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. A touch watery on the palate, goes down slick and finishes a touch mouth coating.
OVERALL: Okay. Feel was a touch watery, but the look and flavor worked alright. Much better than their gusher infection Artrock was. Decent enough, though nothing to write home about.

On-tap. Enjoyed on jun´12 – at Mediona Beer Fair 2012. Pours very dark brown in color & dark amber to the light. Beige, small bubbled, froth creates a thick, lasting & creamy crown. Copious rings on sides. Roasted malts & toasted coffee beans to the nose with a subtle citric touch. Gentle roasted malt flavor balanced by clean hoppiness at fist sip. Creamy maltiness resolves in smooth palate then evident bitterness –to remember us it´s a Robust Porter – lingers into the finish. Harsh hoppiness usual in many Porters is not found here. Refreshing fruity touch in the middle. Flavorful medium body, soft carbonation. Smart well balanced beer, very easy drinkability. A big one, I promised!
