Aarhus 26/7 2020. 50 cl bottle from Brdr. D., Nyvej, Silkeborg. Kragelund’s usual label design with the logo that looks like the symbol from an obscure sect of Freemasons. Held in maroon dark grey with two stags.
Pours murky, opaque dark mahogany with a small yellowish head. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. No lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a strong sugary odor with a touch of something burnt. Caramel, hard candy, toffee. Hard roasted dark malt.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, almost flat texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderately strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet. Lingers for a while. Caramellish finish.
Malty, agreeable and very sweet brew.

March 2017: 500 ml bottle, No. 138, from the Norwegian importer. ABV is 6.5%. Fairly cloudy dark brown colour, small off-white head. Malty aroma with some sourish and vinegary notes, hints of over-ripe berries and oak. The flavour is also malty, not too sweet, but again with some sourish hints that I am not sure are intentional.
