Sampled at the breweries sampling cafe and many times afterward later in the week.
Dark Brown.
I never really received much from the aroma. It was always subtle and somewhat fruity.
But what a taste. Each and every time. Medicinal up front. Lovely malt notes in the mid-palate; dried red apple, watermelon seed and plums. The lingering and outrageous finish was full of a coating malty sweetness and a faint hint of hop resins. I enjoyed this one a lot.

Hey, this is pretty good. Darker caramel colour, with a small, ever so strong head. About a 1/2 finger of foam that refused to go away. Little bits of sediment float around. I hope that's yeast. Strong smell. The alcohol content is not hidden. They didn't even try. And I like that. Barley, caramel, some fruit I'm not sure of, dark bread and cognac. The cognac threw me off. Never smelled it in a beer before. Ahh, good taste, good taste. And that cognac smell was not cognac. It was grappa. My tongue diminished the confused nose. Island fruits, maybe even mango and coconut. Alot of caramel and bread. The yeast adds almost a chewy taste. I feel like I should be biting this like a loaf of rye or pumpernickel. The smell and taste intensifies as it warms. The caramel becomes more dominant, the malt/bread more mellow and the grappa slightly more pronounced. Sticky, chewy, somewhat syrupy mouthfeel. Though I wouldn't drink many in one sitting, I would seek this out and drink many in a week. The alcohol burns the tip of the tongue a little. Could be the grappa.
