Deep mahogany color, with ruby reflexes. Brownish head, quite thin, but, hey, it is 16%!
Malty smell, sherry-like, cherries in alcohol, almonds, flowers, maybe red-currant. Surely plum. Brandy.
The taste is more sharp, with woody and tannic notes. And again the sherry-liqueur notes. A good presence of an aromatic and herbal bitterness. And even the bitterness of the apricot core!
A full body.
In the aftertaste there is a neverending bitterness, herbal, chicory, wood. Almond?
Really a remarkable beer!
Thanks Mike for the bottle.

This is one big Italian beer.
Ruddy Brown.
Pleasantly aromatic. Very lively, odd and doughy, like a pretzel covered in cinnamon and sugar with white icing on the side. Notes of plums as well.
Definately an English barley wine. Strong, soft, rich and very malt accented. Notes of plums, pears, sugars, apples and cinnamon.
I have another bottle that I plan on aging. I bet this will age fairly well. Thanks Michael.
