Smells of caramelized apples, plums, soft brown sugar and red grapes. The nose takes a taste and musty cellar as it rotates in the fund of glass. The mouth is alcoholic, a little syrupy, one feels yeast, spices without being saturated, which is sometimes the case of beers in this style. The bitterness is present in the finish but some may criticize that it is obscured by the fruity sweetness of character offered by the yeast.

25cl brown bottle, one of a four pack I bought for my son (Ben). Poured into a Gordons Thistle shapped glass.
Dark ruby red body, clear and bright, tanned foaming head.
Sweet rich treacle smells, toffee, molasses and sugar, very sweet stuff.
The taste is also extremely sweet, those treacle/toffee/molasses all appear in your mouth from the first sip until the last.
The mouthfeel is just too sweet, the beer is just too sweet.

Picked up three belgian scotch ales this is the second.
Pours a dark brown that lets a little red light through.
Smells is strong with a sweet fruitiness.
I think I have it a bit cold as upfront there is not much but sweetness that changes to a fruity finish with some roasted barley in there.
Finishes clean with a sweetness that stays on your tongue.
I like this beer and it's a bit different than the other belgian beers out there.

Appearance: Dark brown with a light, vanilla head. The head stays for the entire glass and provides nice lacing.
Smell: Very malty with notes of caramel, molasses, chocolate, and some hints of fruitiness.
Taste: The taste follows the smell, but brings out the caramel even more. It is definitely a Scotch Ale, and anyone reviewing in the style has to take that into account. It is a straightforward malt-fest.
Mouthfeel/ Drinkability: Low carbonation keeps this from being a balanced brew and dretracts significantly from the drinkability. I had a bottle, but probably would not have another anytime soon, as it was a tad cloying.

The beer is like one of these malt drinks. There is little yeast character and it leans totally on the malt. O, wait, when I burped I got some juniper.
