I had this on draught at the brewery. It poured a cloudy, golden-straw color with milk-white head and extensive lacing that didn't dissipate through the pour. It has a classic Hefeweizen smell of orange, banana, clove, coriander, and smoke. These were all present in the taste, in addition to banana. The tastes blended in the classic Hefe way. It's medium-bodied, moderately carbonated, and with an ABV of 5.3%, you can drink several glasses without feeling it. Overall, this is a very good American take on the Hefeweizen style. It's not Weihanstephaner, but it's one of the best American Hefes I've had.

Quick Take: With a light straw color, it is clean and crisp with a slight cream malt. This beer looks like a Kristallweizen, but it’s still refreshing for the style.

On tap at the bewpub in Chapel Hill. Pour is cloudy yellow with a thin white head. The smell is so much better than I expected. Lots of wheat twang and clove. Very spicy clove that takes over, and does in the taste as well. Light body and full of clove. No banana or bubblegum, its all clove. Doesnt have the full body of others, but its still pretty good.

Cloudy orange golden with a thin head.

Smells of bananas and sweetness.

The taste was a pleasant surprise. In addition to bananas and clove, there is a nice sweetness like juicy fruit bubble gum.

Mouthfeel appropriate for the style.

This was a solid brew, I'd have it again.

Poured a cloudy golden color with a dense foamy head that dissolved to a thinner film. Strongy lace around the edges. Nose is heavy on the cloves and much lighter with some bananas.

Strong hefeweizen flavors of banana and clove are predominating over the wheat. Some off metallic tang flavors as well. The wheat is there but I have o dig through all the other flavors first. Medium mouthfeel but it is rather thin and watery. However, I find this beer tather easy to drink and while the flavor is not all that enjoyable it is quite satisfying.

Appearance: Cloudy brownish gold. Head is off white and thin.

Aroma: Banana. The smell is a bit spicy with definate snaps of clove. Very nice aroma, smells sweet and fruity.

Taste: Spicy. Nice carbonation bubbles give this beer a pleasant mouthfeel. The sweetness comes on strong at the beginning of the taste and dissappears leaving you with a nice dry finish. There are lingering flavors of banana and fruit on the palate after swallowing.

Notes: I was pleasantly surprised at this beer. I don't remember it tasting this good the last time I had it. Definately a good choice for a warm summers day.
