Lightly hazy orange, one finger of average white foam.
Citrus notes at the smell, tangerine and grapefruit, and a tropical hint (mango?).
Less interesting taste, light maltiness, then agai grapefruit, not too elegant.
Light body, short aftertaste, some tea note in the finish. Light oxidation.
Decent, drinkable, not too fresh.

3.8%vol?? Needs to be stronger at least 4.5%vol. Good session IPA, not the depth of flavour of the stronger Tempest examples, but a decent beer none the less.

Picked this up while in Scotland, in May, and poured it from a 330ml bottle marked "Best By 28 NOV 2017," so I suppose it was fresh, and know it was local. This beer was a pleasant surprise for a paltry 3.8% abv session ale.
A thin white halo of head remained above the slightly hazy golden liquid, and the aroma burst with the fresh citrusy hops I am used to enjoying in some much bigger IPAs.
Perhaps the aroma masked or made up for some of the shallowness of taste I've experienced in other beers this low in alcohol, but I did not find this beer to be lacking, at all, for taste.
Likewise, I was pleased with the full mouthfeel and pleasant, lingering aftertaste.
As always, I've assigned my numeric ratings relative to the style, and my expectations. This was quite impressive for a session ale. Cheers!

Bottle into half pint glass
Struggled a bit with this one to be honest.
Redeeming features: nice golden amber hue, reasonable head
Otherwise pretty insipid stuff. The malt/hops profile was too unbalanced for me; they kind of fought with one another for dominance but both were rather bland. Very thin mouthfeel. Quite drying finish.
Sorry, this did not tick many boxes for me.
Onwards and upwards! Cheers!

Hazy, pale yellow. Frothy head which dissipates slowly.
Leafy hop aroma. Citrus. Peach.
Fruit biscuit flavour. Bitter hops to finish.
A bit watery. Soft on the palate.

330ml Bottle. Pours a light orange colour with a fluffy white head. Aromas has mango and peach. Taste has grapefruit, mango, peach & citrus present leading to a bitter hopped finish. Overall one I really enjoyed.

3.8% bottle from Aldi
Malts: Golden Promise, Munich, Cara
Hops: North American, 25 IBU
So this is slightly different to what is listed on their website
Pours a golden amber
Smell is all sweet mango, peach and some resin
Taste follows on, more resiny hops, quite drying in the finish, touch of mineral mater quality to it and bitter enough for what it is as quite a small beer. Lowish carbonation, nice lacing lasts the whole drink.
A very good modern golden ale which is what I'd call this rather than an out and out APA, but we don't have that option here :) Would quite happily drink pints of it and I bet it is better from well kept cask, as all golden ales are.
