L- Black, clear, pours with 2mm pale tan head.
S- Deep roast coffee with smokey notes.
T- The taste follows the smell^. It's quite pungent but there is a sweet note to it too that is more 'up-front, thin, sugary' than say a more traditional 'mellow malty richness'. There's some hoppy/dryness too, that rolls over the palate last of all.
F- The carbonation is low, which combines with the sugar notes to make this something I'd skip buying again.
O- Without summarising the above this really isn't working for me
Bought from Beerhawk/UK, 330ml bottle BB: 19/09/2020.

Bottle. Almost back. Quickly reducing head.
A mainly coffee aroma that leads directly into the taste. Heavily malted barley with a moderate bitter completion.
Mid range body with a gentle carbonation.
Decent but unenspiring.

330 ml bottle of "Elemental Dark Ale: Robust Porter" with a BB date stamp of 23 Feb. 2017. Retrieved from Scotland in August 2016.
This London style porter pours with a very dark red-brown body and a thin, weak head.
Aroma: simple but pleasing aroma of dark roasted grains. Some alcohol evident.
Flavor: rich (after warming); well-balanced; near even bitter/sweet balance turning mildly bitter in the aftertaste. Some dark roast but no char.
Medium body and near medium carbonation.
Overall: allowed to warm but improved with further warming.

Pours pitch black with a dark brown eclipse into a tulip glass from a 330ml bottle. Head is tan, one finger high, and quick to turn to surface froth. Bubbles are small, not very well retained, and leaves a light-moderate lacing.
The nose is subdued, but one can discern a strong bitterness, burnt expresso, roasted grain and smoke. There is something estery in the aroma, but it's rather mellow. The flavour is a definate follow on with plenty of bitter roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, smoky barley, and some creaminess. On the sip one gets a smidgeon of dark fruit , blackcurrent and prune, before it turns to more traditional mocha flavours.
It feels medium-full bodied, silky smooth, and a little more carbonated than liked. All in all it's very traditional, and pleasant. Can't find fault, but it doesn't stand out either.

33cl bottle. Dark brown pour with a medium-height fine-grained tan head. Smells of dark cherries, roasted malts, cold coffee and dark chocolate. The taste follows the same notes. Medium to light body and a cherry bitter aftertaste. A classic porter.
