RBESG 2016 in Barcelona. Shared bottle at La Cervecita Nuestra De Cada Dia. Can hardly read my notes here, which may be largely explained by the beer’s 11% ABV (on top of a few other beers). Black colour. Dryish aroma with notes of smoke and roast malts. The flavour is not quite as dry as the aroma made me fear, still with a roasty character and some wood smoke.

Bottled and due to the massive gushing when opened I take it this is bottled conditioned
Pours a nice b
Solid black body with bare minimum of tan head
Aroma is irished up cocoa
The rest is smooth real smooth

Always a bit of trepidation when diving into an oyster stout...never sure if they are going to go over-the-top fishy on you or not. Pours uber dark opaque brown with a medium sized but thick and creamy head that sits there staring at you for a while before coating the whole glass on its slow decline. Nose packs quite a lot of coffee and dark roast barley, telling you this is a big beer. The beer itself is dense and chewy with solid roasted/burnt grain, coffee, and cocoa. The added dimension from oyster is difficult to pinpoint...sort of an indirect slight briny feel. Really well put together stout. Mine was cellared for a year, so the booze and other elements were well integrated and I didn't feel it to be out of sync at all.

33cl bottle. Pitch black pour with a very thin espresso head. Roasted malts, dark cherries and dark chocolate dominate this brew, with some subtle coffee flavors thrown into the mix. Very well balanced.

11% alcohol, oyster, and a very dry finish. It's tough to drink that's for sure. The particles floating on the top and the knowledege that there are fresh oyster in there doesn't help. It tastes too boozy for me, and the smell, which is supposed to wow you in a stout, is too timid, while the taste is too bold. Love the finish though it's dry and toasty. But I guess it's not my kind of beer.

Poured with a thin, slightly retentive head. Deep and complex toasty malt aroma and taste. Very slight carnonation with suprisingly astringent spice notes. Malty and syrupy and at 11.2%, this is definitely a sipping beer! Very rich and warming.
