Very strong IPA from Tempest (although they still call it a pale ale), it's actually quite close to a West Coast IPA, except it's more malty. Very resinous on the nose, with malt and a hint of orange. The body is full, very bitter, and a very hoppy finish, you'd swear it's American. However, usually Tempest beers are great because they're good AND cheap. Here, it's 4.3 € for a 33 cl bottle, so it's not cheap at all. For the same price, you get an Omnipollo Nebuchadnezzar, which is in my opinion better. Here I'm lacking complexity, something to balance it all out. It's not elegant, which is what Tempest is usually. It's like they hopped it like crazy to hide the alcohol content. Also, there's a clear lack of foam.

Bottled
Amber ever so slightly hazy body with big full cm white head
Aromas of pine caramel and cocoa covered fudge
Toffee malt then a smooth hop hit that ends in bitterness never overly sweet though

R: Quite a light amber, no head and a tiny bit of lacing.
N: Resinous hops and sweet, caramel malt.
B: Hops starting and finishing with thick, heavy malt in the mid-palate. Intensely thick mouthfeel with almost no carbonation. Alcohol hidden very well, decent for sipping as you acclimatise to it.
