Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours a very dark brown with off-white head. The nose is burnt toffee, figs, prunes, chocolate cake, and brown sugar. Very nice on the nose. Definitely makes me want to take a sip!
The taste is super smooth. Molasses and black licorice hit immediately. Wow - so good! The Scotch barrels come through here - really nice. I wonder which Speyside distillery they used?? Toffee, oak, maple, vanilla, port, raisins, figs, and chocolate. This is just fantastic.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Rich and boozy - sweet on the aftertaste. Even a bit smoky. Overall, an incredible barrel-aged Scotch ale.
