Downed three 0.33l bottles of this (along with one of the best Schnitzel Cordon Bleu's ever) at the Hofbräu Traunstein on 25SEP25. Each cost me €4.10....
Poured a rich, clear dark chestnut hue. Had a short, fine tan head which ebbed quickly to a covering layer with light lacing. Nose had lovely caramel and toffee notes. Body was medium to medium-plus and it was quite smooth. Thought the body could have had a bit more heft.
Flavor? More caramel and toffee in a nicely semi-sweet and malty attack on the palate. Finish had a smidge of floral hopping. A very nice Bock to go along with a fantastic Schnitzel!! Prost!!

“Maximilian be strong”
Tested from a glass crowler pulled from a tap at a bar.
Body is brown, but it's reddish brown when held up to a light. not much head..ok it went kinda flat over night.
Smell is Plum, raisin, bread.
Taste: Plum, raisin, bread, caramel and maybe a hint of anise. Smooth and sweet. But not too sweet. You can taste the alcohol but it seems to fit in. Almost could give this a 4.25 for taste.
Mouth feel is just ok.
A Solid Dopplebock, Is just below the best from Germany.

thin beige foam but nice and dense. clear and ruby
nose is mild, caramel mostly, a little booze
taste is caramel and toffee, sweet but not too much and not lingering, balanced by a relatively strong bitterness. I even perceive a certain noble hops flavour though could be imagining that
gentle carbonation, rather full towards oily
