Shared by LesDewitt4beer at Green Bay tasting from a crowler. Pours crystal clear deep yellow/amber color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention and dense soapy lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of red grapefruit, pear, wood, mint, peppercorn, pine, caramel, toasted bread, light roast, herbal, floral, grass. Medium pine woody spicy bitter finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced creamy bready malts and sticky resinous hop mouthfeel. Lingering resin dryness and minimal hop astringency. Standard feeling English style beer on earthy hops and malt balance.

Stiff Leg pours a bronze color, with a big frothy head. The aroma has a nice fresh, vegetable note. The flavor is bold, but overall balanced and pleasant. Overall, good feel.

At the brewery/tap room/restaurant…in a shaker, bright clear light copper. Has a kind of sweet gingerbread malt aftertaste. Crisp finish. A little tea-like tannins and some nettle-like herbs. As a beer, this is okay and inoffensive (I guess) and better (insofar as it’s got a little more unique angle) than a macro, but…it has nothing I look for in an English ipa, and it’s just middling, at best, taken on its own.
