The oatmeal creates a silky, rich-bodied dark beer, with coffee notes up front and a chocolate finish.

Crowler shared by LesDewitt4beer in Green Bay. Pours opaque dark brown/black color in a tasting glass. Small light khaki head with good head retention and spotty lacing. Aromas and flavors of big chocolate, cocoa, roasted nuts, toast, biscuit, wood, peppercorn, pine, herbal, floral, grass, dark fruit, and yeast earthiness. Light-med pine herbal woody char bitter finish. Medium carbonation and body. Balanced creamy grainy oats, sticky hop, and chalky roast mouthfeel. Lingering hop resin and chalky roasted dryness with minimal hop/roasted astringency. Very standard English oatmeal stout. Minimal warming 5.8%.

A crowler from Clyde's bar shared with Beer Advocates in Green Bay, WI.
Pours black with a thin slightly off white head, low carbo, light lacing. The aroma is toasty dark malts, cocoa and char. The tastes are dark caramelized malts, oats, chocolate, coffee, a hint of dark fruits, char, distant dark bread crust. There is slight bitterness in the finish. The feel is very smooth and pert near creamy and is medium-heavy bodied with a lightly dry medium-long finish. Overall a very easy drinking and great tasting Stout with quite a smooth mouthfeel. I will get this again when I return to the beautiful and historic building that houses Clyde's. This beer is very good in its style.
