32 FL OZ crowler
Served in an imperial pint glass

L - It is amber in color, almost copper, with a slight haze. An aggressive pour yielded several inches of beige head with minimal lacing.

S - The rye comes through loud and clear on the nose. The rye is spicy and some citrus notes come through.

T - The rye dominates the flavor. It is dry and spicy with a little citrus.

M - Medium

O - This is a flavorful rye beer. It is one dimensional with the rye, but I don't think that is necessarily a bad thing in this case.

On tap at the brewery. Amber color with a hint of orange and a pure white head that lasted throughout. The smell and taste are dominated by caramel malt as the hopping is very subtle. The mouthfeel is very smooth and the carbonation level perfect. I like this so much I picked up a growler to go.

Built from a base somewhere between amber and blonde, a spicy tone interjects the floral malt sweetness for both balance and bready, earthy intrigue.

With a golden, amber hue sculpting any would-be flavors, the pour is bready, dense and patient as its lathery froth emerges from a cakey haze underneath. Its bready-sweet aromas rise to greet the nose with caramel, light toast and a husken nutty note. Initial taste plays out similarly with those pound cake tendencies taking hold.

Firmly malted, the middle palate gives way for the hop influences and the grainy rye to pierce its fortitude and balance the bready sweetness with peppercorn, pecan skins, light caraway and crusted bread.

Wavering slightly in its stern malty presence, the finish dissolves its medium-weighted sweetness and carries a spicy, minty and soft vanilla-like presence past a grainy, semi-dry exit from the palate.

Fairly malty aroma and flavor, with a touch of underlying citrus and a peppery rye kick. The finish is slightly bitter. Another malt-dominant, somewhat safe beer.
