I don't like Police and I think that Sting is an atrocious song writer and an even worse performer. And though I now cannot get that stupid song out of my head, I'll take another sip of the beer to help dull the pain, even if briefly.
West Sixth's new Foreign Export stout pours the tall, dark and handsome beer to win the ire of dark beer lovers near and far. As a creamy espresso-like creme swirls on top, the stout laces with each sip. Its strong overlay of coffee entice the nose and draws the first sip quickly. Bold roasted char mingles with burnt caramel for an emboldened malty greeting to the palate.
As is sultry taste of burnt toast, french-press coffee, bitter baker's chocolate, roasting walnut and smoky chocolate flavors saturate the tastebuds, elements of vanilla and heavy whipping cream round out its nougat-like center and turn the coffee to latte and the cocoa to velvety milk chocolate.
Its medium-full texture allows for a great semblance to drinkablity, but keeps the palate wanting more- more heft, more lush taste, more of the acrid char that foreign extra stout are supposed to celebrate along with more of the dark fruit nuances that set the style, underneath the seduction of coffee, apart from the rest.

I am drinking this on-tap at the brewery, as my wife and I are in Lexington for a day. Served to me in a pint glass, this beer draws a very dark brown, almost black color with a tan head about 2/3 of an inch when first served to me that eventually settles to nothing at all after a long, long while. Aromas of coffee and dark, roasted malts are nicely present. Flavors of dark, roasters caramel malt sweetness followed by slightly biter coffee and dark chocolate notes that are rounded out with a bit of hops. Has a crisp, yet smooth and frothy, medium to full bosomed mouthfeel with light to moderate carbonation. Quite a tasty beer indeed!
