Not particularly assertive in its flavor, it still delivers enough tart sweetness and sour to make this delicious. The fruit seems more tart raspberry than blackberry but it has a sweet marmalade to go with a funky sour note. A backdrop of malt helps to solidify the feel.

The traditional "salt" beer of the Goslar region of northern Germany finds favor in the bluegrass region of Kentucky as summer unfolds and a crisp and refreshing taste beckons. After selecting a homebrewer's recipe, West Sixth's Blackberry Bramble Gose quenches the thirst like few others can.

Its sexy appearance takes on the hues of mauve, ruby, burgundy, red and purple and is eye-catching from across the room. Its pinkish froth expels the juicy perfume of blackberry, apple and lemon while its taste is succulent and supple with sweetness.

As its wafer-thin breadiness and confectionate malt sweetness trails off quickly, its the fruit to stand tall. Vibrant, ripe and juicy blackberry flavor takes center stage while its limey, lemony, cidery and winey undercurrent supports the added fruit and adds its own dry and tangy sourness in complement. Light saline plays delicately as the taste closes and seems to give a boost to the robust berries.

With no real coriander perfume and its salty balance playing a minimal role, the flavors of the medium-light gose are focused and singly dimensioned to the blackberry fruit. Its finishing sourness and chardonnay-like aftertaste is decorated with an aftertaste of wheat and burlap. However its intangible characteristic of being both juicy and dry on the palate simultaneously is what wins over the summer beer barons.
