A: Pours a dark brown with a thin off-white mousse that recedes much more quickly than expected.
S: Aromas of lemon, lime, pine, cedar, juniper, grass, cocoa powder, vanilla bean, toast, and caramel fill the nose.
T: Nicely balanced notes of cocoa powder, heavy cream, toast, caramel, vanilla bean, minerals, lemon, lime, herbs, grass, cedar, pine, and juniper wash across the palate. The finish is surprisingly delicate, offering integrated notes of citrus, herbs, cocoa, minerals, cream, and toast.
M: Medium-bodied and somewhat dry, but a little bit lighter than many American brown ales I've consumed recently. Carbonation is active and firm. Easy to drink, but I would prefer a slightly thicker body.
O: This is a decent enough brown ale from a reputable brewer. I highly doubt it will wow anyone, but if you're a fan of this style, then it may be a worth a try.
