Pours an orange/amber with a bit of haze into a fifteen ounce glass mug the same temperature as the beer. Thin white head that settles quickly to a steady rime. Pretty lacing.

The nose is assaulted by dank wet hops followed by a heavy dose of pine. Some grapefruit zest.

Taste is primarily big citrus hops. White grapefruit. Lemon zest. Bitter orange. Resinous pine. Weak malt backbone.

Medium mouthfeel with straight up harsh pine. Finish is bitter with little malt to add balance.

A grab you by the throat IPA. Too harsh for for my taste.

Thanks Matt for sharing!

Saturated golden orange tone with bright clarity, sheets of lace in the glass, lasting coverage.
Mild aroma is grassy and herbal with a hint of dank pungency, hint of dry citrus peel.
Taste packs a nice amount of herbal hop flavor, grassy with a light grapefruit peel note.
Lean and easy drinking, light bodied and dry. Crisp and just enough hop character to keep drinking it.
Overall, this was enjoyable, a good option for a day drinking session at the campground.

Aroma is resiny and grassy, with a fairly dank note and hint of bready malt.

Flavor is resiny and bitter throughout, with enough caramel malt presence to not make it seem like hop water.

There's nothing more demanding than a hop-head at summertime. The dry, crisp, bitter and refreshing properties of IPA seem to evoke catnip-like responses. However we don't need for IPA lovers to go too crazy, so brewers like West Sixth devise the same familiar hoppy taste of IPA but in a calmer body, strength and balance.

Half Bite's pale golden body and arid white cap billows over with an earthy, citrusy and aromatic array. Mild caramel, grain and honey fall on the early palate with supple sweetness and light crustiness.

Unfolding on the middle, the sweetness drifts and the hops build in. White grapefruit, bitter orange, light lemon leaf and melon take charge and with a bitter, spicy and herbal finish that's chocked full of pine, fresh grass clippings, and a pungent chive and shallot nuance.

Light, crisp and refreshing, the beer's bitter closure dries the palate effortlessly, allowing the hops to take full command with a moderate grit that clings to the back of the throat. It's a perfect summer ale to satisfy the bitter tooth without getting too out of hand.
