12 ounce can, canned on 7/22/22. I've had this a little while so I probably should have drank it earlier, think I bought a 6 pack of this at West Sixth NuLu in November 2022. Served in a tulip, the beer pours a slightly hazy dark gold color with not quite an inch off-white head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. I like the aroma, smells mostly like strawberries along with some grainy malt and straw. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some floralness and and a hint of lemon flavor noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is light, it's smooth and easy to drink with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a nice enjoyable brew, although I'd probably like this one a lot more on a hot day!

Are there any two flavors that are better suited for summer than strawberry and kolsch? The West Sixth team marries the two flavors as a highly refreshing way to beat the Kentucky heat during the dog days of summer.

Strawberry Kolsch teases the senses with a soft strawberry perfume with a hint of pilsner grains and a tease of floral hops that bring out the best qualities of the radiant red berry. Yet the hybrid beer has no indication of the strawberries within as it appearance is straw in color and faintly hazy. A wisp of sea foam precedes a taste of cereal, honeysuckle and light breadiness.

Grain sweetness recedes rapidly as the beer ushers in a crisp, clean and dry bready middle palate. Floral hops trend grassy and lemony with hints of lemongrass, verbena and lemon pepper trailing closely behind. Its lemon and grassy taste melds well with the strawberry taste that's more tangy and green than the perfumy nose suggests. A quick charge of mild mint, grass and pepper gives the finish a light bitter balance that both the lingering pilsner malt and berry taste deserves.

Light, crisp and refreshing, the kolsch styled beer goes dry quickly and allows its mellow hop character to add a snap to the finish to offer a high rate of drinkability along with a quick aftertaste of wafer and strawberry perfume.
