Clean, fresh and highly inviting, West Sixth plays well with pale by making a fun and friendly American Pale Ale that borrows a little from the "juicy" ale making trends but is also deeply rooted in the classic American Pale Ale framework. This beer is brewed perfectly for the Peaks of summer.
Peaks Mill Pale Ale comes to the counter with a light amber, strong golden hue. Lightly hazed, the beer crowns with a creamy off-white crown while hints of citrus, herb, hop spice and a toasted malt edge all come to mind. Somewhat plump with malt character a light but savory sense of graham cracker pulls from the toasty grain with hints of floral honeysuckle and croissant.
As the light and lofty ale rolls across the middle palate, the focus shifts from the malt supports and toward the brightness of hops. A classic taste of orange, grapefruit and lemon pair with a slightly more mango character for an upgraded juiciness and roundness. Trending herbal, spicy and lightly resinous, the late taste shifts further into a taste of sun tea, verbena, sassafras and fresh spruce.
Medium light in body, the beer is a refreshing thirst quencher with elevated character; perfectly suited for the beer that you order while you're figuring out what you're drinking. Finishing bitter-sweet and with a medium linger of peppery hops, the beer is enough to satisfy hopheads but also invite the casual drinker as well.
