As beams of sunlight seem to stream from the West Sixth Brewery, the "mo" beam takes on a citrusy facelift thanks to the unique character of Citra hops. This impeiral, hazy, New England styled IPA once again sees new light.
Pouring with a deep golden orange hue, the beer's matte pastel finish has it looking like sherbet in the glass. Its radiant scent of oranges overwhelm the perfume with all things citronella. A light herbal verbena and hemp tea display comes ahead of a pastry sweet taste of cookie dough, honey and mild caramel with the beer's first malty impressions.
As the sweetness lessens its grip on the middle palate, the hops begin making a bold statement with a burst of lemon, tangerines and a mild taste of lime. Pink grapefruit brings roundness as simpler nuances of mango, apricot and ripe papaya bring a stone fruit and tropical taste to the hop complexities. Trending herbal and smoothly bitter, a late palate of lemon verbena, hemp and sun tea frame the beer's final taste.
Medium full and with a linger of malt holding onto the finish, the mostly balanced and slightly hop forward finish brings a fine grassy flavor and a sense of stale caramel and butterscotch that plague the finish just slightly. A linger of orange peels and leaf outlasts the caramel in a medium long aftertaste.
