Collaboration with Liquor Barn
This limited edition bottle was aged in bourbon barrels hand selected by Liquor Barn and the West Sixth brewers. This chocolatey imperial brown ale was brewed to carry the characteristics of these fantastic barrels. The finished beer is balanced by aromas and flavors reminiscent of milky, dark, and fudgy brownie treats infused with Kentucky Bourbon and a touch of vanilla.

Pours very dark in color with a tan head. No lacing to mention. Nose is slightly bourbon, it is there but not overwhelming, also cocoa hints in the nose. The taste is similarly slightly bourbon and slightly cocoa, but THEN as the flavors meld across the palate and slowly the brownie comes out and builds. Superb beer!

Using what they know about snakes and cakes, the West Sixth brewers show off their brewing prowess with a deep and chocolaty imperial brown ale and a rich vanilla and Kentucky bourbon barrel treatment.
Like malted milkshake in its viscosity, the Bourbon Barrel Brownie looks the part of chocolate pouring from the bottle. A patient layering of whipped cream tops the Brown Ale with a mild sepia stain. Seductive aormas of milk chocolate emit from the glass just as a lavish chocolate flavor serenades the tastebuds just as does their Snake Cake Imperial Stout along with not-so-gentle nuances of vanilla, coffee, pecan and cream roll over the senses.
Decadence ensues as the thick and chewy Brown Ale seeps deeply into the tastebuds with its rich and fudgy center. Breakfast Blend coffee laden lattes weaves seamlessly into the bittersweet chocolate morsels and French vanilla as bourbon drenched caramels and a mild oak char give a glimpse into the beer's more powerful final flavors.
As bourbon warmth simmers from below, the nearly semi-sweet fullness clings to the mouth and is reluctant to release. With an long and sweet finish of chocolate and bourbon, the late taste is decorated with all things brownie batter.
