12 ounce can, canned on 8/29/22 stamped on the bottom of the can, purchased at West Sixth Nulu last month. Must have used some old labels since it says it's 750 ml but it's a 12 ounce can. Served in a tulip, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head. Head retention and lacing are both good. Aroma is nice, the peanut stands out but there's also coffee, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Taste is pretty much just like the aroma, but there's also some dark bread, caramel and cream flavors noticeable too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's coating and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Thought this was a good overall imperial stout, but would definitely recommend this one to those who like peanuts. Worth a try for sure!

Snakes may not have had it so good since they picked that forbidden fruit off of that tree. But now West Sixth snake gets a newer sweeter reputation in peanut butter stout form. Unabashedly slathered with peanuts and chocolate, the Snake Cake imperial stout is all dressed up in peanut buttercup fashion.

Inky black and adorning a similar skirt of khaki froth, the espresso looking Snake Nuts quickly engulfs the nose with a robust, decadent and dessert-heavy scent of chocolate, peanut butter, dark roast coffee, walnut and a tingle of whisky spice. Making no apologies, the heavy sweetness of the stout leads with praline, molasses, honey, heavy cream and chocolate.

And those rich malts and added chocolates further seduce each and every tastbud as the caramelized taste of whisky and kahlua intensifies the sweetness with their own oaken nuances. Peanuts and chocolate additions only add to the lavish sweetness with notions of peanut buttercup candies with vanilla, caramel and a hint of macadamia softness. Bold coffee notes bleed into a lightly bitter taste late on the palate while the long extension of peanut butter and chocolate linger like dessert.

Full bodied and becoming the battlefield for heavy malt sweetness and warming booze spice to vie for final attention, Palate fatigue is thwarted as the chocolate and alcohol easily outlive all other flavors for a beer that wins not necessarily on complexity but on the sake of its own bigness in irresistible taste.
