Having hop heads throughout the galaxy screaming, "beam me up!", West Sixth Brewing rolls into a New England styled IPA with all the cosmic themed hops for more that just inspiring a nice intergalactic name. Riding on the backs of Galaxy, Comet, Apollo and Calypso hops, this imperial status hazy IPA is out of this world!
Delivered with a standard hazy golden orange haze, the frothy Cosmic Beam leads with a juicy scent of tropical fruit, citrus, green herb, tea and berry for a light, sharp and nearly tangy citronella aroma. Gentle sweetness glosses over the tongue with a light granola, mild pastry, soft caramel and honey maltiness for a sweeter introduction to taste.
Bold with citrus, the middle palate opens up to a boost of tangerine, pink grapefruit and lime before a berry tartness of gooseberry and blueberry tease the senses with a mildly tart balance. Yuzu, passionfruit, under ripened mango and kiwi take things into the late palate with an herbal bitterness of green tea, gin and cedar.
Sassafras, verbena and a fresh spruciness finish the complement before the spice of gin and curaƧao liquor enliven the beer's final frame along with a medium long linger of bitter spruce, hemp and herb.
