My favorite Hop Static channel so far. I seem to like IPA's best that list piney as one of the attributes. If you like piney IPA, you'll love this one too. It's been a while since this was released, but ti was so good that my brother and I had to immediately have another when we finished the first.

Best version so far. Great head and lacing. Nose was typical. Taste is where this shines. Great hop flavors with piney overtones that bite the pallet.

Do not adjust your set, the brewers at West Sixth is shaking things up with the third installment of their Hop Static series. Playfully woven together with Strata, Citra and Simcoe hops, and a classic Midwestern-styled IPA, albeit a slightly strong one, is on full display.
Sturdy honey amber in color and with a reasonable hop-induced haze, Hop Static, Ch. 3 kicks off with an ivory coat of foam and a breaming perfume of citrus, spruce, caramelized breadiness and a backdrop of tropical fruit. With its very first sip, a malty tone is stuck with caramel, granola and a toasted sweetness remiss of nutty flavors.
But as the beer splashes against the middle palate, the hops quickly steal the show with a bold burst of citrus that plays out like pink grapefruit, orange peel and a slight lime bite. As the supportive malts fade into the recesses of balance, the hops continue to blossom with pineapple, passionfruit and lighter mango nuances. Trending old-school bitter but still clean, the late palate is sharply resinous with pine, fresh with peppery grasses, herbal and laced with citrus peels once more.
Medium bodied but on a quick drying track, the IPA finishes crisp, clean and pleasantly bitter with a long aftertaste of gripping hops and fruit peels well beyond any other flavors. An herbal bite of gin teases the senses late while the beer is a shining example of a modernized, but bitter IPA.
