Pours a slightly hazed gold with a pinky of beige head. Average head retention & lacing

S: Slight grassyness, a little lemon, nose picks up a bit once warm

T: Dry, slight phenol profile, a little juicyfruit gum, a touch of grassyness. A touch of lemon, some grasstyness & dryness as this beer warms up. Finishes a little dry with a kiss of citrus & pear

MF: Medium body, fairly firm carbonation

Decent flavor easy to drink, seems pretty typical of the style

Just in time for sunnier skies, warmer weather and greater thirst, West Sixth Brewing rains down with an American wheat beer.

Lightly cloudy and pouring yellow and straw, the well capped Sun Shade Wheat greets the nose with a tangy sense of dough, citrus, light herb and green tea before gracing the early palate with a pillowy malt character of honeysuckle, fresh baked bread and lightly kilned grains.

As the summery ale washes the middle palate, the sweetness briskly lifts and the fruity flavors of lemon, apple and honeydew step in. Mildly tart in balance, the fruit flavors are followed by a light herbal character of lemongrass, verbena and green tea in a lightly bittered balance to close.

Medium-light in body, crisp and off-clean, the taste of wheat germ allows a crisp and doughy flavor to return in aftertaste, reaffirming the beer's pillowy foundation of bready flavors.
