Poured from
A: Pours a dark thick brown hue with 1 inch of frothy dark mocha head with good retention, slowly settling to a thin skim.
S: Sweet bourbon hits from a good foot away. Molasses, brown sugar, toasted oak, vanilla, and dark caramel.
T: Dry chocolate and coffee hits first…stout notes that really didn’t come through in the aroma. Quickly followed by creme brûlée, sweet bourbon, toasted oak, vanilla, and dark caramel. Subtle clove and earthy spice in the background.
M: Medium body, surprisingly light for the hefty 13%. Layers of dark roasted and smooth malt sweetness. Bourbon notes linger beautifully on the palate.
D: Such a well crafted example of style. The bourbon is extremely well expressed. Very nice winter sipper!
