Roxie is our version of an Irish Red. It is filled with complex malt flavors and aromas. This medium bodied beer is very easy drinking with a clean finish.

On tap at The Brass Tap, Cedar Falls. IA. Served in a snifter.
Clear light brown in color, with a white head that left lots of pretty lacing as it faded. Malt forward as advertised, with a slightly sour and fruity note. Medium bodied, with lots of pleasant bitterness and a clean finish. Overall, a pretty good beer and a great pairing with spicy food.

Very solid Irish red, pours dark amber with a quickly dissipating head. It’s slightly nutty and caramelly malts with a pleasant dry finish. It’s actually pretty good, but I prefer my Irish reds with a bigger caramel malt note.

Poured out a clear, red color with golden highlights and a small, tan head of foam. It smelled of sweet caramel and not much else. Sweet caramel with a slightly floral hop presence.

L: Exactly how you would expect a nice Irish red to look. Okay head, nice slightly cloudy appearance.
S: Nothing really stands out. The faint smell gives you an idea, but most reds like this don't have a terribly strong aroma.
T: the undercover smell is exposed when you take the first sip. Slightly malty and a smoky flavor that sticks with you even after the beer is gone. It's not overly flavorful, but something I could recommend to a newer craft drinker as their first red.
F: A little more carbonated than I like. Especially with this type of beer. You enjoy it more the longer you have it in your mouth.
Overall: I would drink it again on a tap full of IPA's, but up against a lot reds I've enjoyed previously, I would opt with something else. Again, for a first time craft drinker or someone new to drinking crafts, it's an easy red to drink without overpowering flavors and something they can enjoy.

Very dark amber. Smell is good but not great. No real hop presence. It's well balanced as far as red beers go, just left wanting more from an Irish Red.

L (4.25) - it is a very pretty deep red beer with a coarse white head on top.
S (4) - Smells okay. Not a lot of hop aroma, true to style. But I didn't get a whole lot of caramel either.
T (3.75) - A little lackluster in the taste department. Well balanced and all, but want a little bit more
F (4) - I had this on draft, but I thought it was a little harsh on the carb. It wasn't unpleasant, just a little much.
O (3.75) - Overall not a bad beer by any means, and better than the other tap options at this bar. But I walked away not overly impressed.
