Nose: nose: fruit, some roast – very light – suggests espresso along with some chocolate.
Pours bright dark brown under a thick, moussey, 3" clingy tan tinted white foam cap.
Palate: Chocolate and espresso, not overly bitter from the roast, more chocolate than roast.
Thick, oily, creamy, chewy with medium very fine soft carbonation

Very solid porter looks, nearly opaque, with the faintest reddish-brown highlights visible, topped with a sandy brown head of mildly loose bubbles. Smell, wow! That smell! So much dark, sweet, creamy coffee, roasted grains and just the right amount of hops at the edge to bring it all together. Taste is almost as good; dark, roasted, creamy. Twangy finish, a bit odd, but still so damn good.

Dark body with a thin yet lasting head; nice rings on the glass after every sip. Excellent charred/roasted grain note in the aroma; coffee grounds. Very fine flavors: roasted grains; bitter chocolate and coffee. Medium bodied; dry and clean finish.
A rich, tasty porter, balanced and good depth of flavor throughout. Nothing earth-shattering or new, but does the style proud. A nice little find...

Poured into a balloon glass.
Look: A dark coffee body. A light cream colored head. Little lacing, with a wisp of tiny bubbles after receding.
Aroma: Rich, dark roasted malts bring out a good amount of chocolate and coffee. I even detect a bit of powdery cocoa.
Taste: A good play on bitter chocolate and coffee here, with a subtle bed of hearty malts. The finish has just a slight tang of raisin.
Mouthfeel: Just about perfect in weight. Thin but not too thin.
Overall: I like this porter a lot. It's got enough going on within a simple design. But it hits all the right notes.
