Poured from a bomber into a snifter. This was picked up at the brewery 2 days ago and is "Aged in Baco Noir Wine Barrels".
Appearance: Pours a deep, dark brown and leaves a finger + of off-white/light tan head which fades slowly to a later atop the beer. (4)
Smell: Roasty chocolate, berries, a light chemical smell I can't quite put my finger on. (3.75)
Taste: The taste is actually pretty similar to the smell. Some cocoa, light berries, mild plastic, light caramel. substantial wine barrel influence. Pretty drinkable, finishes with some malts, cocoa and a bit of red wine. (4)
Mouth-feel: Medium carb with a medium body, perhaps a tad thin. Finishes nice and smooth though. (3.75)
Overall: Definitely a solid winey porter. Goes down easy and has some interesting flavors. Glad I picked up a bottle to try it. (4)
