16 oz. on tap in pint glass (at the brewery)
L: amber-gold ... 100% clear ... white-ish head, served at about 1/3-inch tall, minimal stick or lace
S: smokey for sure ... bacon, salty ... it's so different that it's hard for me to detect malt or hops; it's not over-powering, but definitely smoke is involved; oak wood notes
T: peat and smoke ... it tastes like a Scottish ale that's been sitting around in a smoker for a few days ... lots of oak/wood notes
F: solid all around and very drinkable ... plenty of carbonation; it warmed up pretty quickly but was still drinking very well
O: for a first shot at a smoked beer, it lived up to the name if nothing else -- loads of smokey smells and flavor. very interesting.
