The colour is red-amber (35 EBC), the liquid is clear. The three finger head sinks down to a thin lid, leaving no lacing on the glass.
The light smell is a bit dusty (as American amber ales tend to be). Red malts and lactose. Smooth bitter notes, hints of exotic fruits.
The smooth taste is bitter and smooth. Dusty hints of caramel and rye bread. Some metal in the bitterness; bread and dough. Light to medium body. The aftertaste is mild with some wort sweetness, clean bitterness, some herbs and a touch of nutmeg. The finish is bitter-dry with some floral notes.
The carbonation is strong, the many mid-sized bubbles are short-lived. The liquid is light but not watery.
This beer is not really finished, too many off-flavours and flaws.
