Our naturally cloudy Dröppche impresses with its unique sparkly-fruity taste and is particularly drinkable.
Brewed according to the old Cologne brewing style, our Dröppche deliberately dispenses with full filtration in order to preserve its natural, original taste and fine aromas. The result? A refreshing and yet characterful beer that enriches every round - whether in the pub, at home or under the open sky.

Appearance: A clouded, soft, dimmed gold appearance. Fluffed white head. Certainly great lace on the way down.
Smell: A golden barley, straw-tinged aroma with light touches of dried herb, lemon, fresh yeast.
Taste: Lightly grainy, hay-hewn with a cereal sweetness. Pervasive, slightly creamy yeastiness throughout. Light earthy herb, small hint of citrus. Finishes light, a little spritzy with a lingering, earthy yeasty element.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation with a fluffed effervescence.
Overall: Nice.

This beer, enjoyed on tap, looks almost like some Hefes in its haziness. The head fully covers the surface in a thin, foamy cap. The lacing this foam provides is pretty nice, as well.
The nose and taste are definitely not in the Hefe realm - with the nose providing mix of grain, grass, and peppery-leaning hops. I am not getting any citrus that I noted in my review of their core Kölsch a good while ago. The taste brings a little bit of a bread crust (hard, not doughy, and not really toasty) vibe followed by an ever so slightly fruity malt flavor (more orchard than citrus, but also fairly generic). Dry grass fills in next, with a little bit of white pepper seasoned grain stalk.
The beer finishes pretty dry, and a slightly more green grass plays lightly in the aftertaste. Light-plus in heft and on the thinner side of feel, though a. Ice carbonation pairs with the peppery notes to keep the feel from being drab.

On tap at Novare Res in Portland, ME.
This one pours a glowing slightly hazed yellow color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells lightly citrusy, with pear, wheaty and biscuity malt, and some lemon.
This is really wonderful and truly refreshing update to a beer that was already a stone cold classic. It’s just so inviting to look at and drink, with citrus rind, biscuits, pear skin, and a bit of floral and lemony hops on the finish.
This is light bodied, clean, crisp, and stupidly drinkable.
I had really, really wanted to try this when I first heard about it, and I really hope I can try it again at some point.

Had on tap at the Bavarian Lodge in Lisle, IL. This was fantastic, and would love if Reissdorf would can this like their Kölsch. Highly recommend.

Just like lager has their "keller" approach, so does Kölsch with it's Dröppche- a natural, unfiltered, full flavored and full bodied rustic beer the way the good lord intended.
Pouring a rather rusty and tarnish gold, Reissdorf Dröppche reels in the senses with a distinctively fruity perfume of citrus, apple and pear with a backbone of bready sweet scents. As its flavors pop on the early palate, early impressions of fresh dough, honey and a light toasted savory flavor leads to a fresh and hoppy middle palate and their fruity, spicy, floral and grassy bitterness for balance only.
Medium bodied and richer for most standard kolsch, this historic and rustic version of the style gives the tastebuds a history lesson.
