Found two bottles of this old stuff at a dusty little gas station on my way back through South Carolina from Atlanta. Never heard of it, so I thought 'what the hell?'
Pours a deep murky brown color with a very thin light brown head with no lacing. Smells a little odd, like earthy hops and some nutmeg and brown sugar. Tastes of earthy hops, sweet malts, candy sugar, brown sugar, and nutmeg and cinnamon. Mouthfeel is medium without any real carbonation. Overall it isn't bad based on the age on it.

Well, although this is not my type of beers either, this was exceptional. 5 de mayo means may the 5th, which is the day when Mexican troops defeated the French in Puebla. The taste is sweet but strong, a little spicy but not with vegetables or chilli, like a little of cinammon. Dark thick color.
