Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass, with a fine, medium khaki head with great retention and lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, coffee and milk chocolate with a hint of vanilla. Whoops, very tart with little malt flavor. I hope I got a bad bottle; possible wild yeast contamination; if not, a very tart porter. Very sad. This looked and smelled nice. This may be marginally drinkable, but sourness in a porter is not a flavor I intend to finish. I I'll have to wait until I get back to California with give this brewery a fair try.
