Murky brown-amber. Some cucumber and fermented cabbage. Undeveloped flavor profile with more of a beer-gone-bad drinkability.

Came out looking like carbonation was a mere afterthought. Dead, no legs. Nothing tart nor sour about the aroma.

Taste had just as much in common with a brown ale as it did with a wild ale. A smidge of dark cherry. Brown malt. Lacking sourness. No brett perceptible.

Insufferable

Pours a murky dark reddish-brown with a foamy khaki head that fades to nothing. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Small particles of sediment sink to the bottom of the glass after the pour. Smell is sour with wheat, fruit, earth, acidic, and vegetal aromas. Taste is much the same with sour wheat, fruit, earth, and dirt flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a low level of carbonation with an almost flat mouthfeel. Overall, this is a below average beer that is a bit weird in that they took a non-sour style and decided to sour it with very lackluster results in my opinion.

Serving type: bottle.

Poured almost a lifeless looking brew. Its always an uneasy proposition when you're handing out $$ for an unproven brewer's wild ale experiments. Sometimes you find a gem, but more often in my experience, is a dud.

This one lacked a whole lot in terms of a sour aroma. I couldn't discern much, it was frankly far too bland for a wild ale. There was a mild fruit impression, but whether it was cherry or not, maybe lemon (judging from the history of the geographical area, its a decent guess) I couldn't tell. Taste wise didn't clear anything up. Sadly lacking sourness, lacking tartness, lacking fruit forward esters in any way. Any brett isn't adding anything in terms of body. Its barely sour, and non descript beyond that. Pass.
