The “Queen of the Sea” embodies the spirit of a water divinity: feminine but decisive, soft but energetic, powerful but never violent. Its strength manifests itself as the embrace of a sensual and enveloping tide. Brown and sumptuous Belgian Ale: sovereign of the table in princely lunches, it best accompanies the richest dishes, mature cheeses, fruit desserts and the well-deserved after-dinner relaxation.

Bottle 0.33L @ "Il Ceppo Toscano" in San Gimignano, Italy.
Dark amber body with an average, frothy, off-white head, mostly diminishing with some lacing, though.
Moderate-to-heavy malty (caramel, bread) and light hoppy (orange) aroma with light yeasty character; notes of red fruits.
Moderate sweet, light bitter and acidic flavour; average-lasting sweet and acidic finish.
Medium body with oily texture; average carbonation; light alcoholic feeling in the finish.

33 cl bottle that I have held on to for some time ?2018. Best consumed by 12/2020.
Pours a slightly reddish brown/caramel colour - a little haze but not bad - no real sediment - 1/2 finger of tawny coloured head.
Aroma of brown sugar, caramel, toffee, sherry, Belgian yeast and hints of banana.
Sweet on the palate - brown sugar, dates, raisin bread pudding, caramel and again a touch of banana with just a bit of booziness.
Lively well carbonated medium mouthfeel that dances a delightfully sweet booziness across the palate.
A surprise gem for sure - would it have been as good fresh - guess I will have to look and find out!

Dark, bright mahogany color. Beautiful creamy foam, beige in color.
In the smell candy sugar, fruitiness, white peach, raisins, light caramel. Yeast and lightly spicy notes. Hint of balsamic.
Definitely belgian.
In the taste the raisins and the caramel prevails over the rest, again candy sugar. But the sweetness is well controlled.
Strong, full, intense, but even smooth.
Good.
