A: Located just off the highway leading into Westport is Westport's only brewery. It is a large converted garage detached but right next to the brewers home. While some may be apprehensive about visiting a brewery located inside the perimieter of a private residence you have no worries here. Washington has a few places like this: Foggy Noggin, Slippery Pig, ect. Atmosphere was welcoming, clean. The brewery is within arms from the bar.
Q: I previously sampled the IPA around Tacoma. Today I sampled the CDA and Bohemian Pils. No quality issues to speak of, or none that would send a big rd flag. Beers range from average to good
S: The brewers wife was extremely knowledgable about the local beer sites and some in Seattle. She served us directly from behind the three chair bar in the brewery. They were extremely nice and this is very much local and simple. Good.
S: They had a nice array of selections ranging from IPA, Pils, Amber, Porter. Eight to ten handles is not bad for a small garage based brewery that has been open less than six months. My favorite was the Dark Dungeness CDA. Perhaps one the best local CDA's around IMHO. A nice amount of peat added some special smokiness and campfire feel. Different. Good. Beer to go, growler fills were $15, a bit pricey I thought but they are a new, small outfit and I paid $20 for fills in CA so...No food and overall good stop!
