355ml can poured into tulip.

Pours a slightly hazy honey brown with one thin finger of foamy beige head that leaves cresting ocean wave lace as it recedes.

Smells of sweet brown bread, muddled citrus slices, caramel and decent resiny hops.

Tastes of toasted bread, mildly sweet caramel malt, fairly tame grapefruit and orange peel and more pleasant pineyness.

Feels mild and fizzy. Medium-light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Finishes off-dry.

Verdict: Recommended. No complaints here.

355ml can poured into tulip 16/03/16

A hazy amber liquid with loads of suspended particles, not many visible bubbles but two fingers of dense foam hangs around for a while leaving lots of random lace

S soft caramel, butterscotch is diacetyl I'm guessing, orange creamsicle, herbal, leafy hops with a little citrus

T herbal hops and orange rind mix with with heaps of sweet malt and soft caramel, not far from the nose really

M medium weight but it creams up like its a nitro can, slick on the palate but a little sticky on the lips, caramel and citrus peel linger

O perhaps a minor flaw with a fair amount of diacetyl but still OK, nothing to write home about but easy enough to drink

There's room for improvement and a few tweaks might do this one some good, nothing to really set it apart from the rest of the pack

Who knew Edgerton had a craft brewery? I try to support Alberta brewers so picked up a six pack and dove right in.

There's lot to like here..good colour and aroma. Not overly hopped up but that's being picky. I did pick up a slight sourness that would indicate a less than fresh batch. Best check the BBD next time.

A very decent session Pale Ale...

Another quality beer from the little brewery that could. The malt base is very reminiscent of the Ribstone Lager - to me, it tastes like a beer from the middle of the prairie should. It's definitely thin on hops, but the overall package is very pleasant. I would be very happy to drink several of these following a day on the river.

16oz pint at Beer Revolution YEGDT. Ribstone's latest offering.

This beer appears a glassy medium copper amber hue, with one thick finger of tightly foamy, and rather creamy off-white head, which leaves some decent melting iceberg lace around the glass as it gently subsides.

It smells of sweet biscuity, pastry-adjacent caramel malt, applesauce, orange cream, and piney, leafy hops. The taste is still pretty biscuity, of the sweet and sugary sort, with some lemon and orange rind pithiness, and mildly astringent herbal, leafy hops, which seem to grow in prevalence as it warms.

The bubbles are nicely zingy, and duly supportive, the body medium-light in weight, and sort of tacky in its enveloping smoothness, a weirdly out of place metallic essence ruining the fun. It finishes off-dry, the sweet, snack cake malt still facing some green hop edginess.

An adequate, flavourful amber ale, with a few kinks to work out, but good for a round or two, should ABV and local flair be taken into account. We'll see if the brewery makes this a full-time product.
