Deep molasses pour with a sudsy cappucino head that falls slowly and silently with minimal lacing.
Caramelised figs, treacle, liquorice, mild char, nutmeg, cassia bark and strawberry.
Scorched toffee, strawberry fondue, liquorice, burnt figs. Nice integration of smooth rich malt, yeast and mild roasty notes.
Feels light for a 10.5% barleywine with dark malts. Slightly assertive carbonation. Finishes with a mild roasty bitterness and a decent warm alcohol bite.
Overall, much more harmonious than expected. Unique blend of rich darker malts, yeast character and mellow hops.
