I picked this beer up as a part of a build your own 6-pack from Total Wines. I poured it into a freshly washed pint glass. It poured a golden color with some haze as expected. What wasn't expected what the undrinkable fish water taste that crossed my palate. From reading the other reviews I'm thinking I got a bad skunky bottle of this stuff. Forgot to check for a date because after 3 sips a drain poured this beer.

Would rather drink water than this poor excuse for a beer.

I had picked this up during one of my forays to Total Wine & More in VA, either in Norfolk or in one of the DC suburbs. I had a colleague who is gluten-free and I told her that I would keep my eye out for G-F beer options and report back to her on my findings. In the interim, I retired from that job and I still have the beers awaiting review.
From the Bottle: "Gluten-Free Beer Brewed with Sorghum, Honey and Spices"; "Steadfast Beer, Born in America."; "Celiac friendly"; "Flavorful, aromatic, satisfying ... things you're probably not used to saying about the Gluten-Free beer in your fridge. Steadfast Golden Blonde Ale is a whimsical yet complex refresher of a beer. Brewed with a Belgian yeast and lightly spiced for a citrus aroma, this ale lives where quality and flavor intersect. THANK YOU for your support - you have ours. Together, we're STEADFAST!"
I Pop!ped the cap and commenced a heavy-handed aggro pour that resulted in a brief finger of fizzy, foamy, bone-white head that quickly reduced to wisps. Loads of carbonation bubbles were in evidence. Color was Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity and this immediately summoned forth my gelt guys, Mammon, Midas and Croesus, all of whom wanted a taste. Nose had a light apple vinegar bite, the now-familiar trademark of sorghum, but softened by the honey and spices alluded to on the label. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium. I do not know quite what to say about the taste. It did have a slight citrusiness to cut the sharpness of the sorghum, but it was still hampered by that apple vinegar sharpness. It finished semi-dry and while not unpleasant, I would not put it above the Widmer Omission beers.

Pours a light yellow with a thin head. The smell is a lot of sorghum but there are other scents such as a decent amount of hops and a bit of an alcohol scent to it. The taste was nice with heavy sorghum flavors up front and then mellowing out into the hops for a rather clean finish. Nothing over the top, but a much better option compared to some other gluten free beers.

A: The beer is crystal clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down rather quickly, leaving only a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of sorghum are present in the nose.
T: The taste is similar to the smell and is dominated by flavors of sorghum, but these aren't as strong and dominant compared to some of the other beers in the style.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and a little crisp and tangy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: Out of all of the gluten-free beers I've tried, I have to say that this was probably the one that was easiest to drink, and this might be a result of its lighter body and the fact that the sorghum aromas and flavors were not overpowering.

Poured a hazy, golden-pale almost yellow into a pint glass. Highly carbonated, with a 2plus finger frothy head that receded quickly. A faintly fruity, yeasty aroma with the slightest trace medicinal lingering. Like many gluten-free beers, there is something that feels a bit off. It’s very dry, but not particularly flavorful. Mouthfeel is ok, and for it type it’s very drinkable, and better than the few other gluten-frees that I’ve tried.

A light refreshing alternative to the Sorghum Pale Ale. It is also gluten free and celiac friendly. Owners Mark Crisafulli and Jeremy Hosier have set enthusiastically on a path to create an unequaled collection of Gluten-Free beers for the true craft beer enthusiast. A great summer brew.
