Best beer by 3 sheeps I have had yet! Love the hops combo, especially using the amarillo to bridge the citra and mosaic. Just the smell of those hops with the yeast and malt is great. The taste and body both reflect a hop forward profile, with a lemongrass finish. Easy drinking single ipa

Poured from a 22 oz bomber into a tulip glass.
Appearance is fairly dark orange/copper in color with little to moderate transparency. Head is one finger thick.
Smell is sweet malt and an astringent bitter grapefruit flavor.
Taste follows the nose, but the bitter grapefruit flavors have a little better balance than in the aroma. Sweetness and bitterness are both fairly high. There is a lot of burnt sugar coming through. This ipa is made with Citra, Amarillo and Mosaic hops. I didn't get much Mosaic, but there is some tropical fruit coming through in the background of the grapefruit.
Mouthfeel has a good medium body and is well carbonated.
Overall this is a solid ipa, but not my favorite style. The sweet malt and harsh grapefruit flavors are a little much, and there could be better balance. However, I still enjoyed this beer overall, and I would probably order it again if available.

A solid beer but was expecting more. Instead of a juicy hop bomb I got a beer that tasted more like a malty DIPA. It was still a tasty, easy drinking beer but as good as I had hoped.

No bottle date besides Small Batch 2016. Clear amber color with a dense two fingers of head that slowly settled to a thick crown. Heavy lacing is left down the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, berries, and toast. A little dank and a little green. But that is not executed in the flavor. It is dry and astringent with harsh hop bitterness. Never had an IPA that smelled this good, but tasted so not good. It is hard to pick out any specific hop flavor. Maybe some berry and dank fruit but that is about it. Better than average body and carbonation that stays lively for the duration of the bottle.

Picked up a 22 oz bomber from a shipment that must have just arrived at my local Trig's Cellar 70. No bottling date that I can see, but it's got to be less than a month old--marked Small Batch 2016. Poured right from the fridge into my Founders pint glass.
L: Pours a crystal clear honey amber with about an inch of eggshell head that drops pretty quickly to a film dotted with large bubbles. As it goes down, it leaves some nice even lacing on the glass. Somewhat lazy visible carbonation present.
S: Right from the fridge, I'm not getting much of an aroma from this one. There are some subtle dank and grassy hop notes coming through, along with some other earthy tones. Perhaps just a bit of citrus and some vague caramel malt sweetness. As it warms, this one really transforms. I'm getting plenty of those great Mosaic floral notes, as well as significant dank, grassy, and tropical fruit notes.
T: Cracker and more subdued caramel malt flavor right out of the gate. Following on the heels of this is some bright and robust citrus, tropical fruit, melon, and floral hop flavor. The intensity of flavor in that initial hop burst makes this one feel a lot like a much more hefty DIPA. The middle ushers in some nice creaminess that brings out more of the complexity of those floral hops, as well as some more grassy and earthy tones. The back end brings a full blossoming of those nice floral hop flavors--quite reminiscent of Two Hearted in its profile. I'm still getting some of those malts coming through, keeping things in a nice balance. There's also some lingering citrus rind hop flavor that provides plenty of bitter at the close.
F: On the lighter side of medium-bodied. As previously mentioned, the flavors this one brings imply a DIPA, but the body makes it quite a bit more drinkable. There's a bit of astringency at the start, a great amount of creaminess through the middle, and enough bitter to make you glad you have taste buds.
O: I was a little underwhelmed by the nose on this one, but the flavor more than made up for this. 3 Sheeps are making some good beer right now--some of the best in the Midwest/Great Lakes. This one brings to mind some of the best elements of other beers that I really love: Two Hearted, Furious, and Mosaic Promise. I recommend seeking this one out.

Pours a slightly hazy golden color with white head. Tropical fruits, pineapple, citrus, and some light piney notes come through on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium bodied. Finishes with more light fruits and a slight malt note sneaks in.

Hazy dark straw to light amber appearance with a white head of two fingers. Laces moderately. Smells of grain, pine, citrus and earth. Tastes similar with grapefruit, pine, faint grain and good lingering bitterness. Feel is spot on for an IPA. This is a great brew and it works extremely well in warm weather at quenching my thirst. Would be a shame if 3 Sheeps doesn't release this beer next summer. Well done.
