Look: It pours very pale... Pretty good head retention for pilsner...

Aroma: mild presents whiff of clover-honey
A cousin to wisconsinitis no doubt minus the other grain (s)

Taste:
It was very appealing cold and become sweeter as it warms... Just enough hop essence... and just a little acidic acid like just one drop out of a lemon.

Mouthfeel: lower body but not thin... FG maybe at or above 1.10

Overall: very drinkable not a happy pilsner that "regular" beer drinkers wouldn't balk... And not so unsophisticated that a regular pilsner drinker would greatly object...
but in German its pißwasser !

 

 

Pretty reliable beer here, pours that standard Wisconsin yellow, 1/3" white head, better than average clarity going on. The aroma pops on a light lager yeast, always nice to get that first hit. Mild grain existence, you get a bit of farm edge to it. Its like default mode hoe is less of a thing here. Hopping has that mineral water and tulegrass conjunction junction going for it in in the nose.

The taste seems to have the requisite hallmarks going for the beer, pale pilsner malt, Saaz hops, lager yeast. Hard water. Mouthfeel of a light astringency, good wheelhouse of bitterness for style. Just a drop of lemon onto that cracker. I don't really fw those reviews who think this beer is sweet, twas not my experience. I do wish it was more of a warmer humid Midwest situation when I had this, would have been more fitting, it was another cold late Spring as we were turning into June.

Pilsners just bring that calming sense of peace and simplicity moreso these days, its no wonder we gravitate their way as we get older in life.

3 Sheeps Pils pours a clear, golden color with a small but long-lasting lacing head. The aroma is very light and has a grain-like note. The flavor is a little lighter and has notes of rough grain, with a nice balance of sweet and bitter. It has a good feel. Overall, it's a very solid Pilsner.

 

 

Had on tap. Yeah, this ain't it. A slight level of murkiness to the mostly clear golden body, white cap and sporadic lacing. Smell is bready yeast and faint grassy hops, that is all. Taste is a watery version of the nose plus a little bit of soggy cracker. Feel is watery and thin, not crisp but soft and mushy with yeast leading

 

 

 

Clear, pale straw colored body; fair carbonation; thin head, white and quickly dissipating, thin, patchy remnant lasts throughout. Light malt nose; grassy hop scent. Light cracker flavor with a light hop bitterness; nice mineral tone. Light body; smooth. Light body; crisp; delicately smooth.

I've had several pours of this at the Sheboygan brewery, so the looks are better than my Colorado home review (perhaps the beer needs to acclimate to the altitude as we just got home only two hours ago). Otherwise, it retains all of the basic, unassuming pilsner qualities I like about it. It's easy drinking and quite crushable.

Pale canary gold, good clarity despite some micro sediment. Tight cap of foam, drippy crown of lacing.

Aroma is mellow, pale malt and lager yeast, white bread and apple.

Taste is clean, apple esters, crackery malt, mildly bittersweet. Slight astringency, pleasant dry finish. Very easy drinking, pairs well with food.

At ease, Pils-nerds. It’s a fine American Pils.

Appearance: Pours a completely clear, pale yellow color with a massive white head. SRM of 4. (4.25)

Aroma: Moderate aromas of lemon citrus, sweet pale malt, grains, some mild corn and possible adjuncts. (3.75)

Flavor: Moderate flavors of lemon, white bread and pale malts, grains, and some corn sweetness. Grains, and a smooth bread and yeast on the finish. Leans malty, and mildly sweet. Minimal bitterness. (3.75)

Feel: Medium to heavier bodied, strong carbonation. A soft, smooth, creamy mouthfeel, minimal bitterness. (4.50)

Compared to New Glarus Pilsner 4/25: Pours similar, stronger head. Milder aromas. Less crisp, floral and citrus notes. MOre smooth grains and cereal. Less crisp and bright. Winner: New Glarus

to Fair State Kold 4/26: Pours lighter, similar head. Less vinous and grape, yeast. More lemon, wheat, bread.

Overall: A decent version of a German Pilsner. Almost leans toward more of an American pilsner. Mild lemon, but some corn flavors. A fantastic body. Creamy, smooth, soft. (Rating: 3.88)

 

This is just another poor example of the German Pilsner style from an American brewery. I tried it at the taproom and from a can at home, tasted the same. That taste starts with a sugar sweetness, already way off of style. This beer is sweet, wet, cloudy and lightly hopped. A good pilsner is "crispy" (dry), crystal clear and moderately hopped. Small American breweries are usually terrible at making Pilsners, and this is another absolute fail. This beer is a Lager, because I assume that it was lagered, and not a great one. I like this brewery a lot, but this beer is an absolute fail. I understand that people may "like" this beer, but that does not make it a good example of the style.

Perhaps I had a bad batch at the taproom and it was the same batch packaged in my can. because the other reviews describe a beer that I did not try. This is a FAR shot from a "Crispy And The Bois". Others also describe it as Clear, Which neither the beer in the taproom nor at home were. It's not opaque, but far from pilsner clear.

A fantastic pilsner that offers great flavor and total drinkability. Not a fan of 3 Sheeps until I tried this beer. Worth giving a try!
