‘Misdirection’, an appropriate name for this brew. The aroma led me to expect a classically made IPA. The first sip puts out some Belgian esters, very ‘gumball-esque’. A blend of Belgian+American yeasts I would guess. It works and is still good ‘n hoppy!

Perfectly crafted however the Hops are very overpowering in a bad way ie the hops used arent my thing.

Straightforward double IPA. Unfiltered golden yellow body, one finger white head, short retention, bit of lacing. Smell is light grapefruit, touch of citrus, moderate caramel sweetness, a bit of zest and resin. Flavour is a bit muddled, not quite clear, a combination of caramel, citrus, grapefruit and a bit of resin. It's solid, but seems to me that there was more potential here. Mouthfeel is medium lighter bodied, good carbonation, zest on the finish.

Initially I really liked this beer. As I drank it I still really enjoyed it but detected a slight funk in the nose and the taste. Possibly this is the hop character I was getting? Very refreshing and a bit of a change from the straight juice hazy IPAs but just didn't love it.
EDIT: Had a crowler of this and I had a different experience. I didn't detect any of the funk but rather a fairly hopped up, sweeter DIPA. Still very good but just not great.
