Had this in Nick U's back patio. Dope place to watch a game and eat some of the best grilled meats.
Pours black. 1/3" brown head. Aroma imparts the ancho chile quite nicely, this is well done, matches up with the roasted malt in unison proportion wise. Bits of vanilla and chocolate after that. Much like a fine unlit cigar, I could just sit and sniff on this one and be happy for awhile.
Taste is almost as good as the nose, the ancho chile drops substantial impact on the flavor without draping the entire mouth feel in excessive pepper heat. It melds well. The cinnamon was absent in the nose, but it shows up here in the right amount, again, complimentary to the beer. Vanilla helps make that 10.5% come off pretty easy drink wise. The barrel aging is quite minimal but with this many ingredients, I get it, they wanted balance and harmony, while showing off the ancho power.
Nick U is high on 3 sheeps, and rightfully so. They make some good stouts, that's for sure. Throw away that first review of this beer here.

Their description. Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout with cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa nibs, and ancho chilies.
My description, dark black, no foam, smells like spices, up front, cinnamon and chocolate. The taste is pretty much spices with a subtle hint of chili spiciness. I didn't find this beer to be balanced in any way, its just a throw together of ideas with no real execution.
