Tiki Torch Passion Fruit Golden Ale
4.5% ABV
12 oz bottle dated 5/13/19
Poured into Pearl Street glass
Has a hazy darker amber color with a creamy head of 2 fingers, leaving lots of lace on the glass.
Some funky passion fruit rinds on the nose, with the aroma of a book store (lots of paper).
Flavor brings exactly what you'd expect out of a passion fruit golden ale. Tart and funky passion fruit but it sits somewhere in the middle of a mildly complex layer of base malt and toasted malt. I'd say it's an exceptionally balanced beer. It's not a fruit beer at all, just influenced by it. Slight fruity yeast phenol. Great execution.
Feel is crisp with a slight chalkiness. Medium bodied. No perceptible alcohol.
Overall a really enjoyable beer, not something that will redefine beer but it is a great recipe. Well done.
